Acknowledgement of Risk and Responsibility
| DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION The definitions set out in the Cycling Terms and Conditions apply throughout this Acknowledgement of Risk and Responsibility. 1 CYCLING SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS 1.1 I acknowledge that I will be participating in an organised cycle tour with Love Velo.
1.2 I am fully aware that cycling on both public roads and off road is an activity which carries a danger of personal injury and even death. I confirm that I am aware of and accept such risk and will be responsible for my own actions and involvement in this activity.1.3 I acknowledge that I will wear my cycling helmet at all times whilst on my bicycle during the Ride. 2 MEDICAL AND HEALTH ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS 2.1 I acknowledge that I will be participating in an activity which will involve strenuous physical activity.
2.2 I will inform Love Velo at the time of booking of any pre-existing medical or mental conditions or learning or physical disabilities, whether or not these are controlled by medication or are currently dormant.2.3 I will inform Love Velo immediately if any medical or mental conditions or learning or physical disabilities arise after I have made a Booking. 2.4 If I have not informed Love Velo of any medical conditions that I have, I confirm that I am sufficiently fit for this activity and that I am not suffering from any health problems which will be exacerbated by such activity. |
2.5 I understand that I undertake a Ride at my own risk. I acknowledge that Love Velo hereby advises me to seek advice from a qualified medical practitioner if I have any doubts or concerns about my health or fitness. 3 INSURANCE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS 3.1 I acknowledge that Love Velo operates in many and varied locations where medical and rescue services are not plentiful, and costs are high. 3.2 I acknowledge that Love Velo has hereby advised me to take out insurance against the costs of medical treatment, evacuation, loss of earnings and/or cost of care in the event that I suffer injury or illness during the trip and while travelling; against loss of or damage to my property (including my bicycle); against liability I might incur to third parties; and against costs I might incur in the event of cancellation or curtailment of the tour or my participation in it. I confirm that I will arrange adequate insurance against such risks before the Ride. 3.3 I acknowledge that Love Velo hereby recommends, that when taking out a travel insurance policy, I check that such policy will also provide cover whilst cycling on or off-road and that my bicycle be repatriated following a medical emergency. |
