And there it was coming over the horizon, the Tyne bridge in all it's glory. Yes, it's day 7 and after 7 long days in the saddle, the team finished their journey at St James Park, Newcastle. It's been an incredibly uplifting journey, and no we don't mean the hills!
Yes yes, we know day 5 never quite materialised but look at it this way, you can now see the video diary of Day 6 instead!
Yesterday we had the pleasure of being joined by the wonderful Iain Dowie, former footballer and as Love Velo learnt, former rocket scientist! Now there's a first. There was also Lee Briers of the Warrington Wolves, the lovely Clare Tomlinson and Rachel Wyse of Sky Sports News, but most importantly, we met Beth, the 14 year old daughter of one of our riders Andy, who suffers from Rett Syndrome.
Today, we rode from Littleborough to Bedale. And the poor boys got rained on. Heavily! Coupling that with a quite monumental ride through the moors meant that tonight's stop in Harrogate was more than well earned.

After leaving Birmingham today, we cycled north into a battering head wind. We made our way through old market towns and out into the countryside before getting the call to divert off route, add serious mileage, and visit a Premier League training ground. This time, we were guests of Stoke City FC.

What a day today. We cycled north from Cheltenham and had only gone 20 miles when we received a call from Sky Sports News' Jim White telling us that if we could ride to Bodymoor Heath by 2.30pm, Aston Villa Football Club's training ground, we could interview their new manager Paul Lambert.
So, heads down we bolted on at 27km/h, a quicker pace than yesterday, to make it. And make it we did.....just! The interview went out on Sky Sports News earlier but to see a small snippet, and more of today's cycle challenge, click the video diary below.
We woke up to biblical rain and headed from our hotel to the start point in Wells. From there, the guys completed a fantastic 100km and in the process, knocked significant mileage off tomorrow's ride. To see how they got on, click on the video diary below:
